Chinese New Year 2018 “Year of the Dog” celebration begins today, February 16 and goes thru March 2nd. The New Year starts each year on the second new moon after the winter solstice (shortest day of the year) and continues to the full moon.
The celebrations and activities are abundant with many vibrant colors, lighted lanterns, dragons, dancing, fire crackers and so much more. Just use your search engine to look for Chinese New Year activities. You may be amazed at how many there are. I’ve always enjoyed the excitement, atmosphere, brilliant colors and flowers, and displays surrounding the Chinese New Year celebration. Come out and enjoy some of the activities. I’ll be out there as much as I can, so say hi when you see me.
